My absence/Being clinically simple

Hey guys! How have you been?   Got caught up in school and unintentionally neglected my blog :(  Time truly is a luxury these days.  It's almost finals and the start of my summer vacation *in the Philippines/ South East Asia, April-May is Summer or the hot season*  I've been working on little projects here and there and I've recently been getting into illustrator and photoshop :D  I'm no expert, but I'm getting there.  I also moved to a new place!  *nothing exciting, it's pretty much in the same building, just different units*  I'm slowly accumulating furniture here and there and I might revamp them and post some furniture D.I.Y's :)

I had writer's block which also explains my absence.  I got into really random stints of creation when I had that block.  I decided to re-live my childhood and build a Gundam.  it was pretty tedious and it only contributed to my procrastination.

Pretty Random I know.  At least I didn't cook meth :/

I also might change my blog's look :o  I've been playing around with illustrator and came up with some pretty messed up stuff that I'm reluctant to post here for fear of being ostracized haha.  I digress, I'm going for something more youthful and fun.

I've been working on some garments and I've put them to the side numerous times because of school work :(  I always have trouble organizing thoughts and I really abhor making mood boards for the soul reason that they take up waaaay too much physical space.

I collect images I like and they accrue on my computer rapidly like a sub arachnoid hemorrhage resulting from repeated trauma to your head from outside stimuli. I noticed that when I collect images, I tend to  have little themes for the images I collect. Here are the inspirations I've put together that inspired me.  I like making these sometimes because it's like making a mood board, but without the annoying mess.

Here's  the inspiration board of the mini photo shoot I'm planning to do :)
I got really into dreamy, retro and nerdy aesthetic.  Well, that's my normal aesthetic when I think of it.  I digress, I'm super stoked to get back on it during holy week.  I included the make up I might try out on the model and I'm still trying to find the perfect place to shoot.  Any suggestions?  I'm looking for something vintage, quirky and natural.  It should evoke idk, "the sunshine comes out of my ass"

Sorry that this was a super short post, I promise to upload something meatier next time.

Do you have any comments or suggestions? Feel free to leave any at the comment section or feel free to message me :V

The Craft

Sorry for being absent all this time.  I didn't die, I'm just slowly adjusting from vacation that ended a month ago.  I'm pretty lousy at maintaining things.  I even had a bonsai plant die on me once, if that's  not a nurturing quality, then I don't know what is.  I've been in a rut lately.  I think I skipped this phase when I was fourteen, 60 pounds heavier and watching Degrassi re-runs at 4 a.m.  Never mind the mega hiddyness I just painted in your mind, on to the clothes.

This was just for fun when I went to my friend's house for a little shindig.  I caught up with my friends and asked my gorgeous friend Amber to model some of my garments :) Last time I saw her, she was blonde hahaha.  Time sure does go by!  This was her first time doing this and I must say, she can scowl with ferocity for DAYS!

I didn't have a plan for this shoot and I'm not even close to being decent with photography.  It was just a good time with friends and you know what it was worth the freezing, nipple stiffening temperature that morning.  She's wearing the clothing I designed in collaboration with my friend  Joco and his stunning shoes.  I watched "The Craft" and thought Amber was perfect to recreate Nancy's vibe of 90's goth girl look.  If you haven't watched "The Craft"  you haven't LIVED!

This is just a screen scrap of the film.  Nancy is the on in latex :)  I was aiming to have the same vibe in the photos I took.  I took the pictures and styled the looks. I'm not much of a stylist, but I do get very particular with how my garments look.  I hope you guys enjoy the pictures :)

The clothes look so different when they're being worn by Americans :o  They look intimidating.  I love Amber's ferocity here.  I wish I could visit more often and have her model all my clothes hahaha.
I noticed that at certain angles she kinda looks like a punk/goth Taylor Swift hahahaha.  *Amber if you're reading this, don't take it the wrong way hahaha.

This is an old dress I made.  It was my first project I made  with an interlock.  It's a trapeze dress made with heavy weight Jersey.  It's so freaking heavy hahaha.  I printed on the white circles for the mod look, but when I look back, I could have done it faster and neater hahaha.  The giant Muffler was made by wonderful friend and  knit artist, David.  He's really amazing and fast when It comes to knitted goods.  I wanted to steal it, but I doubt It would be cold enough here.

The fur coat was a gift from a friend.  Yes, I have worn it in public, and no, no one splashed red paint on me.  I love how My friend's backyard looks like Jurassic park.

Btw, it really WAS freezing.  I'm getting goosebumps just imaging myself there.  Who needs to huff bleach when you an imagination.

The muffler was big enough to make a protective hood :3  Ugh that bastard was cozy

If you have any inquiries about any of the looks, feel free to contact me or leave a comment.  I'd love to hear from you!

California Holiday

To start off, I would like to mention that It's been 2 years since I left home and moved to the Philippines to continue my education.  These two years have forced me to learn about myself, culture and how my parents act they way they do.  To be honest, the holidays here make me very homesick and and uninspired, so I asked my parents if I could fly back to California for my winter break.  They obliged and I was really ecstatic for my trip.  This meant hot cider, baking copious amounts of sweets, Cats, and my friends. I took a SHIT ton of pictures but I just want to share the best photos that really summed up my trip for me :) I just spent the time exploring my surroundings and being a tourist in my own town.  It's really fun and interesting to see your home with a fresh attitude.

I had a stop over in Beijing and let me tell you.....the surroundings were pretty bleak in the winter time, yikes!  If you HATE Christmas, I suggest going there during the holidays.  Facebook and other western social media is blocked so you can avoid all the annoying posts about Christmas, Jesus, Menorah's, Christmas party one night stands etc.
The flight was AWFUL  I drank a lot of wine and passed out for a good 8 hours.  Chinese "wine" is reminiscent to perfume mixed with Windex.  It was snowing too.  The user woman looked at me and said " NO PICTURE AH!"  hahahaha I responded "what? okay whatever"  with a Kardashian loftiness in my voice.

The airport was really nice and empty.  I took a nap on one of the empty seats.
The terminal I slept in.  These were all the people I saw.

My car going back home after I laded in San Francisco.  I'm a really bad driver.  I kept getting distracted by the dancing catbearkoala thing on the dashboard.

She's the queen of the house.  I named her Mao.  I remember getting her from a friend's house because they had too many already.  I named her after Mao Zedong.  She slept on my bed during my entire stay.     She loved the little bench thing in my room and would just contemplate for hours when I would sew back in the day.

Man oh man was this GOOD!  I watched some t.v at my friend Rebecca's house.  After that, I grabbed some dinner and coffee with Brenda :)  I haven't had a legit burger in a while.  NOTHING in the Philippines/ Region of Asia can match how perfect this all was...I WANT MORE.

This is a pretentious/hipster angled picture of Brenda.  We caught up and talked about the sad life of College hahaha.

She was so accommodating and baked our asses cookies.
I also went to Jennifer's annual chocolate fountain party and I was excited to see everyone from high school.  Unfortunately, her house had a black out and we moved it to another friend's house and she baked us cookies, ordered pizza, had some drinks and caught up.  Catherine and her smile hahaha she was always a rebel.
We did NOT drink that much, meaning the three of us didn't drink all that.  Besides, my friend had a deaf cat.  Deaf cats and drunks don't belong together.  I think we watched The Grinch and made fun of Taylor Momsen for the rest of the night.

I headed to Modesto to sleep over and just catch up with my other friends from my old high school.  I picked my friend up from her boyfriend's house and I realized how much I missed seeing quiet and empty streets. Anyway, I'm starting to sound like National Geographic documentary.

We went to her house to drop stuff off before we went to David's for some awesome Mexican food and friend time.
Dani's cat :3  I think this one was Jack.  Man this cat is OLD!  I remember him when I was 14.  This cat is an O.G

Sorry if this post seems a bit fragmented.  I didn't take that many pictures because I was just having a good time and just focused on time with friends :)

New Years:)

Ugh....drunken Scrabble?  There were 3 bottles of wine and cider :)  When you play scrabble with my friends, there is no score keeping. Just meat and Jewish Prostitutes.

So "hardcore" of us, but this was pretty delicious :D.  AAAAAAAAND it's gluten free so Zooey Deschanel can hang at my place and play scrabble with us.

My friends and I decided to light some sparklers since it was New years and I like to see things sparkle at night because I'm clinically simple. Excuse how GARGANTUAN my thighs look.  Also excuse the Palm Tree, we're Filipino and live in California.

Big Bang Fans should cue in.  If you got it you deserve a prize and perhaps some psychiatric evaluation.
This is my mom<3  She looked really grumpy because the news kept talking about how Miss Philippines lost the miss universe pageant and it was basically just putting salt in the wound.  She got mad I was snapping pictures of her hahahahahaha

The Secret Spot

I visited the secret spot I used to visit with my friends.  It's at the river/levee by my house. I like to go there when I want to think or just relax.

The little bridge over the water where gang members like to meet up hahahaha how cliché.  I wish gangs were like the ones in Grease or west side story.  Gay Gangs seem more inviting and dangerous, much like Glee.

I rode my Bike and felt so free and light, like I could fly, but not really because I don't smoke crack.

This was the secret spot :)  I remember having a jam session once with Kirstie and Becky.  Oh!  and Kirstie trying to break this floating beer bottle with rocks.

I remember Kirstie telling me that snakes like to chill in areas with tall grass and other tall grassy things and panicked when I remembered.
It's like the beach but not.  I forget people fish and camp here.  Too bad it was too cold to do it :(

THIS LITTLE FUCKER :3  He's my favorite stray out of all the strays that visit us.  We named him Wilson after the character from House M.D  This cat is like a pedicab driver.  He wanders place to place and scavenges, but this one is cuter and has clean hair and has the ability to read and write :)He came to visit me as well because my mom and dad told me he stopped visiting for two Months.
Before I flew back to Manila, I had dinner at my house with friends and we watched random stuff and played around with chocolate :)

I had a stop over in Taiwan and realized how much the Taiwanese love pussy.

This the end of my post.  Pretty random, but I think her face smirking in satisfaction is how I felt about my vacation :)  I have some fashion and food related posts coming up ;)  Sorry for the delay.  I hope you guys had an awesome vacation:)

Lack of Posts

Sorry for the lack of updates.  It's finals week and I'm about to fly out to California for the holidays :D  I''ll have plenty of things to share with you guys and hopefully get you'll get a better idea of what I'm like :)  I've been looking forward to this trip for a LONG time.  Despite the length of the trip, I'll definitely take advantage of it.  I'm going to take pictures of my "Natural Habitat"  and show you guys what California winters are like.  I'm really excited to see my friends whom I haven't seen for almost Two years!  It's crazy how time flies!  I'm really excited to wear sweaters and scarves, drink HOT drinks and bake my ass off!  I'm really excited to see my CAT!  UGH!  Her judgmental stares, dislike for peasant cat food and hogging half my bed.  When I have more time, I'll try to post something more substantial and kooky :)  Sorry for the delays!

Elevate, Escalate Fashion Show

I've been EXTREMELY busy developing a small collection of garments in collaboration with a good friend of mine Joco Comendador.  He's a fabulous and bold shoe designer and always thinks beyond when it comes to creating his unique shoes.  I was extremely fortunate when he invited me to design for his upcoming show!

To be honest, I was kind of nervous because my aesthetic is not as dynamic as his, but with a little brain storming, Endless re-runs of Big-O, Black Coffee and help from Joco, I got back on the horse and worked my ass off!

The theme of the show was Poison Ivy, photosynthesis, black and neon green.  This was a fun challenge for me.  When I usually create, I usually sketch and plan everything out.  This time around, I found that using that method made me not like the work as much.  I just laid out the fabrics and started to piece them together.  After that, it's all history.  I just started to manifest on its own and this love child/bastard came to be :)

Joco designed these shoes for his show.  Pictures don't do these justice.

This was the only decent pic I took during the show.  I couldn't focus on taking pictures, but thank Buddha that Tricia was there to take pictures. The rest of the photos were taken by her :)  If you like her work, just shoot her an e-mail! :)

Another worthy note, Nadine, and Armin did the hair and make up for most of the models :)  I think they did a really good job at capturing the mood and theme of the show :)

I played with texture and mixed wool, pleather and Hounds tooth together.  Raiza embodied the girl that wears my clothes :)  Strong and sophisticated :)
This is a baby doll dress with pleather sleeves and trimming.  I thought Melissa looked so elegant in this look. I kept changing who would wear what because sometimes a look just works and sometimes it does not.  When I first saw her I knew she was right for this look!

I hand dyed an old teal blouse charcoal and made a pleated pleather skirt. :)
Bey is an Amazonian.  She was really tall and I liked the thought of the skirt making her even more statuesque and gorgeous :)

The coat took me FOREVER to get it right!  It has a pleather collar and the zipper placket is the same thing.  The purple dress was actually an old piece I had lying around.  Joco and Bernie just  freshened it up with embellishments :)

This is a trapeze dress rendered in the same fabric.  They both had 60's vibes to them.

Hhahahah Andie is game for the show! The giant to the left is Darren.  He was the stylist for the show and I think he embodied the overall theme of the show very well.  Excuse how exhausted I look.  I'm very haggard prone unfortunately.

That's the end of the show! :)  I love these pieces a lot.  A lot of time went into sewing and designing these pieces.  Thinking of parting with them makes me sad hahaha.  I'm really thankful for Joco for being one of the few people that believe in me and giving me the opportunity to show my work.  I'm also thankful for everyone who was involved, the models, make-up and hair artists and friends who came to see the show :D  I can now rest for 10 years!
